Break, Destroy, Obliterate, Shred, Mutilate, And Kill Once And For All.
I'm
sick about the bailout.I'm sick about the Democrats who voted for the bailout.
I'm sick about feeling useless in what efforts I can manage to try to change things.
What difference does it make that I talk to people every day about how much better Democrats are, when the ones who voted for this travesty stab us in the back?
It would have cost HALF AS MUCH to buy up all of the mortgages in, or about to go in, foreclosure. So why didn't Democrats do that?
Why did Democrats choose to save fat cat rich fucks on Wall Street, instead of just bailing out homeowners? I'd bet anything you like that homeowners would be a lot more responsible with a second chance, than any of those Wall Street assholes will be.
This bailout is worse than useless; it is damaging. We've thrown the chickens to the wolves - how is that smart? Or responsible? Or useful? Or Democratic? Or patriotic?
I know the arguments - I've spent the last week gorging myself on them. And when it all gets down to the bottom, I still don't see how this bailout is any smarter or more effective than taking care of the homeowners, whose mortgages, according to EVERYONE, lie at the heart of the problem. At the end of the day, this bailout will provide short term relief, but at enormous and reckless cost.
California needs $9 billion to make the State's payroll obligations, and I just heard a Congressman from California on MSNBC (sorry, didn't catch his name) state that he felt bad for California, but where is the Federal government supposed to get the cash to help California out, now that the bailout has passed? The Congressman had no idea.
California's problem is just the beginning. Now that the treasury has been drained, we're going to see the true goal of the bailout met - the total transfer of public wealth to private hands. What finer way possible to break, destroy, obliterate, shred, mutilate, and kill once and for all, the New Deal?
So long, social programs, veteran's benefits, government oversight and regulation.
Hello, corporate serfdom - in earnest.
